What is death but a dream? The Huichol community of Santa Catarina, State of Jalisco, understood it perfectly as they have imbued skull molds with the colors of their dreams, in an effort to mitigate death’s solemnity. Using Campeche wax (beeswax) and colorful plastic beads, the Huichol community embodies patiently the symbols and drawings stemming from the pre-Columbian know-how, demonstrating its exceptional ability to turn simple objects into refined pieces full of magic and colors.
