Made by the Tepehua-Otomi indigenous people from the state of Hidalgo, Tenangos are the result of the magical worldview that allows a simple fabric becoming one of the most impressive textile traditions of Mexico. The Otomi craftwomen have used embroidery as a vehicle of expression in order to capture not only animal and vegetable kingdom present in their everyday life, but also their dreams and cosmo-vision. Many Otomi-tepehua women are organized in groups, allowing them to participate in the family economy and to preserve and perpetuate the traditions of Otomi people.
